    850 t-5r 1995

Meet Teapot, picked up from Dan850r last week……so named due to the puffs of steam coming out of the front end and the handle-like S70 spoiler at the back end (no offence Dan, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that )

Sat next to Teapot, my S70 looks like a caricature of the 850. From the ‘for sale’ advert, the car has had quite a bit of work done over it’s 180k plus life….

Converted from auto to manual with single mass flywheel and external slave cylinder
850r clutch fitted at same time
Newer engine with 140k fitted 4 months ago due to oil starvation (from Claymore’s T5K car I am told although I can’t find the supercharger anywhere!! Must be in the post)
    Hlm 304 ecu
    16t angled turbo
    me7 manifold
    3" decatted downpipe
    3" ported throttle body
    ported inlet manifold
    blue injectors
    reverse intercooler pipework
3" intake hose with new airfilter and cold airfeed (standard air box, better than anything else!)
    koni yellow adjustable shocks
    eibach springs
    mtec grooved discs
    feroddo ds2500 pads
    new bottom arms (polybushed)
    air fuel ratio guage
    boost gauge
    oil pressure gauge
    new cambelt approx 10k ago
new plugs, leads, cap and arm at same time
    new fuel filter
    S70 boot spoiler

Some kind of dump valve has been fitted….I’m not a fan of them in general but not an expert so who knows.

The interior is in really good nick as posted up by Dan. Loads of gauges to look at....

WE ALL LIVE IN A….nuclear submarine

Nothing left to do then I guess….apart from giving it some tender loving care……..but first…..

    The nitrous install:

Pull insides out of Schrader valve on inlet manifold and fit adaptor to compression fitting for nylon tubing

Boost pressure switched fitted between turbo and intercooler. Current set up is at 7 psi will switch the system off.

Nitrous and fuel solenoids mounted where they will get some cool air. Also just visible is the throttle microswitch, set to switch the system on at wide open throttle or thereabouts.

Injection point for the nitrous/fuel mixture just upstream of throttle body. The nitrous is behind (upstream of) the fuel injection point to disperse the fuel….atomise I think the word is.

Nitrogen bottle bolted to the boot floor, with regulating valve and pressure safety valve.

….and a gauge to show when the bottle is pressurized. Not really necessary but another gauge can’t hurt this car.
    .

[Edit: I forgot to add - the 5mm nitrous supply tubing runs through the car from the offside rear to the nearside front, going through a spare grommet on the bulkhead.]

And finally! The main switch fitted to where the antenna/aerial on-off switch is sometimes fitted.

So basically it is acting as an ant-lag system. Not really necessary for a 16T I know but there you go – it was pretty brutal until something went pop!
