98 C70 Throttle Body question

Evening gents,
So the C70 as lovely as it is to drive has the dreaded ETS light on.
I've seen a few ads on Fleabay for repair services and also 2nd hand throttle bodies.
But there seems to be some confusion as to whether a replacement would need to be programmed to my car ?
I've found one for £100 with matching numbers with a 30 guarantee.
Will it plug and play or will it need programming ?
I've struggled on with it for a week with terrible fuel consumption figures like 14mpg :-(
It's fine when it's driving, if it starts, but idle is really lumpy and surely it can't be doing the engine any good ?
Any help would be most appreciated. I have found someone who can recondition mine but there on holiday, just my luck lol.

As long as you're replacing like for like i.e. a weber marelli (which your car should have) with another weber marelli, there, shouldn't be any problem, it won't have the complications P2 cars have.

The one on mine is a Magnetti Marelli. It's got a white sticker supposedly the recon ones have a yellow label ?

Sorry, yeah I meant Magnetti Marelli, the ones with yellow stickers are bosch, and totally different.
