That's about 12 - 15mpg judging by my own consumption of about £12 - £15 a day return to get to work and I do around 25 mpg for that.

£1.40 per ltr unleaded super £28 would get 20 ltrs, which is 4.44 gallons, so if your doing 20 mpg that will get you aprox 85 miles, id say summit is wrong
c70geoff (Tuesday 1st April 2014)
12.2mpg, thats not right. My 328 got 135miles to £30 (25.7mpg)
Knew it was crap but what things can I play with to try sort fellas

I'd say you have a leak,
Check, Injector seals, Fuel pressure regulator under the rail, Fuel filter under car they can rust through, Fuel tank pipes, filler neck (metal clamp) can rot through. Vac leak on the manifold Purge valve from charcoal cansiter, canister itself. fuel return hose/vacum to tank. condition of the plugs. Stupid question is the auto box getting into top gear?

My manual C70 me7 T5 gives me upto 35mpg, and never less than 28-30 even when driven sportingly. Can't see the auto making such a big difference.
c70geoff (Tuesday 1st April 2014)
I'm not loosing fuel as in leak but seem to be burning or over fuelling
New maf on there no codes when read yesterday as for top gear not sure as I don't have time to get that far from home but doesn't like changing up or down when struggling sometimes

c70geoff (Tuesday 1st April 2014)

O2 sensor mate, get the number and i will see if i have one here,my auto AWD used to get 16 around town, but even if yours was a cabriolet which are heavy, then that is still using too much fuel..

siamblue (Wednesday 2nd April 2014)
i would change the thermostat and sensor in the housing.
if the gauge is low, that sensor does the guage and ecu so it could effect fuelling.
siamblue (Wednesday 2nd April 2014)
Try a piece of cardboard down the front of the radiator, cheaper than a thermostat
