Thats a lot of upgrades, just the uprated torque converter would cost a fair bit.

Who did you buy it off?

thanks the flying brick i think tbh i will be happy if thats all i find! atleast then i know its fairly safe to not worry about now, i would much rather start with a standard car and go through it properly and make sure everything is a stage 0 and as unstressed as possible. and i swapped the car for my tatty n/a skyline that would have cost more to insure than a gtr but thats besides the point it was some guy from port talbot, owner of dragon modified? but he hadn't had the car long

lol I like how theres three different blocks in the pics with two different sets of pistons and no mention of the block being doweled in the list but clearly shown on one of the blocks!! oh and im pretty sure the head pic is the head that was fitted to my dads car by the same man that fitted the v70 engine to this one!!

I hate to be a pessimist but there's no way on gods earth that this car is the power claimed and even if it was close the gearbox would have gone south well before the claimed figure considering it's not running at the very least an upgraded cooler

Well, you didn't pay much for it, so at least you've not been done.

Haha, i missed that. So it has an uprated torque converter, but no extra oil cooler for the box......that makes perfect sense lol

when shrek had it,it was a darling motor and still is and your right as long as the new owner is happy that's all that counts, its just annoying when people try to sell something that's not honest!! my dad bought hes as it was advertised as 294 bhp but when he got it it was bog standard but at some stage in its life it was as it came with a dyno printout backing the claim, but he was happy with the purchase so all was good but it still makes me laugh when people assume everyone is an idiot so claim ridiculous figures and palm off some randome pictures as "proof" the work was done!!

Of course, its not right when people try to fool someone into believing that the car is something that its not but as the cars new owner was skeptical of the claims anyway and didn't pay much for it, its not turned out that bad. I do wonder if the seller tries it on with every car they sell though.

yeah i just needed a car on the road and my tatty skyline wasn't plus the insurance was £££££. and i got fed up with all the lowballers offering me body kitted corsa's for it. i've always wanted an r and i guess i know volvos better than anything else. if he had messaged me saying its standard the paints tatty and its mot'd for 11 months and taxed for 5 i would have still ripped his hand off. at the end of the day if i believed everything i read on that paper i wouldn't be here asking about it it would just have been nice to have the built block as im only a flywheel and clutch away from having a full manual conversion laying around the garage if it was needed. im still estatic with the car just driving it around yesterday has given me more ideas and motivation to get my project one done.
