    headbolts are easy to remove. it should be easy to drill out. this is the main reason why i refuse to use stretch bolts and i always buy 12.9 bolts. works out cheaper to
    s60 2.4 t5 eibach springs,up rated rear anti roll bar, poly bushed wishbones, poly lower engine mount, fmic, bmc air filter, 3" decat, 2.5" stainless exhaust,hlm remap 328bhp,

    I`d rather drill out a stretch bolt than a 12.9 bolt any day of the week

    no idea mate, who knows with these car's she's done 170k full history and no bills to say its bin off before.

    On the snapped off bolt. I`d spray either WD40 or plusgas down the hole

    same here but the chances of head lift and snapped bolts are greatly reduced by using a high tensile bolt.

    see if you can get a lend of a mag drill. least then you know youll be drilling straight. chances are once you get to a 5mm bit youll be able to pick the old threads out with a tap. in the past ive welded another bolt to wear it snapped. but it all depends how much is sticking out. needs to be at least 3mm

    Interesting replys peeps, im not doing the work myself, A engineering company is coming out tomorrow to remove it, So we will see what happens, i dont know how much if any Bolt is sticking out, by the looks of the length id say it pritty flush. Will let you guys know the out come.

    If id had been doing this myself i think i would had weighed the car in lol,

    No buddy, ive lost alot of interest in working on the Cars to be honest, and i really dont have the time, Just want to get this one in fine fettle and enjoy driving her.

    Update

    Well not much been going on tbh, The engineering bloke From Robertson Colchester come out and done a blinding job getting the snapped headbolt out, no thread was damaged and he said it had been broke for a while.

    So with the head off and at the machine shop having the valves cleaned and reground in along with the new valve stems being fitted i made a start on cleaning the engine bay.

    Also cleaned up the rocker cover which had been siliconed to hell and am certainly glad we removed it as some of the oil ways were indeed close to being clogged up. This got a Good clean and paint.

    Brake cleaner then Jet Washed it, Small brass brush in a dremel for any stubbin muck, sanding block to smooth it off Autosol if being polished, if not just paint it.
