So you've got a forged engine without even realising it.

I should know as i only ever buy Volvo parts and not aftermarket ones where they may even sell three different clutches....the reason there are three it is probably "old stock" Volvo do not have old stock as they keep up with technology and also the price is about £245 which is about the best price.

You yourself may of bent rods in a V70 but i know of no other that has.......owners swop engines around from model to model just because they are 5 cylinder so if the label is not on the timing cover nobody knows what the engine is!!
most of what you say keith is good advice but other stuff just aint right, the manifolds for one are the exact same, ive broken enough and changed enough manifolds to know, and as gavin said his 850 engine is a t3 type

as you are able to stick volvo data up, put some up that tells us about these strengthened engines

Sorry merc but your not reading correctly!

If you look at the Vadis chart for 850 model you will see that even as late as 1997 an 850 T5 from Volvo did not fit the B5234T3 engine from the factory, that was for `97 V70 only.

So don`t Lol as your T3 engine must of been put in as a replacement which is also why you say in your previous post that your rods are fine on 20psi and so are mine as well because of the T3 engine. Plain 850 rods bend........period.

Err, dean has standard rods in his 850 t5 and he's been fine. Gav was talking about how good mapping helps the rods.

Never bent any rods with my old 850 engine and that was running 320bhp and was heavily abused.

Sorry merc got carried away there!........The T3 is a very strong motor i have been on 25psi quite often with my HLM304map because i wanted to fit forged rods and go further with the tune but so far it`s fine and now just settle for 20/22psi
