    Tyre size?

I've not picked my T5 up yet (thats tomorrow!) but I was wondering what the standard size tyre is.
    It has these wheels:

The ad said 17" but I think they're probably 16". I'm just pricing some rubber in case the previous owner had a heavy right foot.
Its an old avatar that I can't be @rsed changing...

Those are 16"s. I think 205/45/16 was standard?

Cheers, I'll price all 3 sizes and the one with the most choice wins! I take it W/Y/Z rating is required. It's standard at the moment but that won't last

Remember tyre sizes will alter your speedo which could make you illegal on the road - so ensure you use a tyre size calculator before parting with your money - search for the link or gimme a shout and I'll dig it out.

This thread gave me a mild panic attack, suddenly realised the S60's tyres are going to be 225 width garden rollers. Visions of huge credit card balances came before my eyes, but thankfully MyTyres.co.uk came to the rescue. I love those guys, my last set were delivered free from Germany! Hectic.

Hello all, reading with interest this thread as i'm talking to a dealer about a 97 model S70 T5. Will be ditching the 16's and trying to decide between 17 or 18's. Can 18/225's fit without rubbing?
    Cheers.

WITH 35 profiles yes, slight rub with 40's.

Thanks siamblue, how much do the 40's rub? Only on full lock or over bumps.
I'm guessing theres more tyre options running 40's than 35's.

Not too much on 40's but your speedo will be out, so that's why i went for the 35's in the end, another thing is the 40's offer more rim protection and are cheaper ish than the 35's,

Thanks siamblue, yer theres a lot more 40 series tyres and so cheaperish.
I found a good tyre sizing calculator on www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles.
Theres everything you may ever need to know on tyres and other stuff on that site.
It tells me that the 40's put the speedo out 3mph at 70mph but as you say the 35's are nearly spot on.
Did you notice a harsher ride on the 35's?
    Your car is lowered too?
