1983 Volvo 240
Green HornetDid the weekly shopping run and the old girl has got one hell of a turbo whine so much so it sounds like a supercharger.
The only thing I've done is to fit a S60R tcv instead of the 850 BCS.
Could the tcv be causing all the noise from the turbo ?

Looks like tcv is faulty.

The later ones operate at a different boost level at different revs and load!.......so the extra load at the wrong revs for your motor/ECU may be causing the extra stress on the turbo?
