Has anyone had Darton Liners fitted in the uk.

Just toying with the idea of getting a engine made up with these fitted.
Is there a machine shop in the uk that has fitted the Darton liners in a Volvo 5 cylinder engine ?.
That ran long term without problems.

On the potential of an 8v head you need to look at this thread http://www.turbobricks.org/forums/sh...d.php?t=286614

Slightly ported head (531) stock valves, reground cam and made 673hp

The Holset HX50 @38psi might have helped though.
    Lol, probably

Size: 101.7 KBClever stuff.

Cooling is actually improved due to the design of the individual components.

Needs a real specialist with the very best kit to do the job properly, nothing like a regular liner insert. Quite often used in Porsche engines here in the UK: an experienced specialist near Heathrow does a few every year.

I know of none installed in 5 pot Volvos here in the UK although a couple of Focus ST owners have had this done.

I don't think just any old machine shop would do this job.

waste of money just get it shimmed. unless your pushing the car to very high bhp then i wouldnt bother. or buy a 2.4 engine. its the engine that should of been fitted to the R in hte first place
