    V70 T5 04 plate Which engine oil??

Is there a definitive answer to which oil is best for a top up? My research shows a 5W 30 fully synthetic......Can someone please confirm this or correct it!..thanks

    If it's the 2.3 T5 then it'll be 10W/40 Semi-synth. If it's the 2.4 T5 then it's 5W30 full-synth.

2004 is a crossover year so it could be either. Look at the sticker on the side of the timing belt cover... B5234 = 2.3 and B5244 = 2.4

It'll take that oil as an upgrade (Castrol are gonna try to sell you the more expensive stuff really aren't they ) But it will make the engine harsher/louder.
It came with 10/40 semi, thats all mine has ever had in it and it's all it'll ever get... every 4-5k miles. And at 208540 miles, it's still showing perfect emissions and running sweet as.
