    What are these two units

    As above are they something for the aerial or alarm tilt sensor? there riveted on so Volvo didn't want them to be easily removal able they are located in the drivers rear tail light surround.

    They could be a tracker.

    I came across a box that was riveted into the one of my cars and had twisted wires going into the unit that came from the fuse box,yes it was a tracker unit.

    Doesn't look like a standard Volvo item and tbh I don't remember seeing them on mine although I haven't really looked in that area with much detail..

    Yeah I cannot recall seeing any thing like that on the other Volvos I've had but as you say its not something you look out for, ide appreciate it if some one would have a quick look on there 850 to see if they have the same or not failing that the rivets are getting hit with the drill.

    Years back if you had a high performance car the insurance company's would insist on a tracker to be fitted,any cosworth owner would know.

    As above its a tracker unit, i have one on mine, not telling you lot where its located thou

    Probably fitted when it was new, I remember in our local Volvo dealer they had a specific brochure for Trackers and they used to promote them when selling the high end stuff at the time of sale

    When I saw the thread title, I thought it was gonna be more pictures of you and munster...


    I like trackers, especially the choccy ones. My favorite of all the granola bars
    19t, greens, 3" inlet, 3" downpipe with race cat, V70R catback, autotech map...
