You can drive them but if you do decide to drive it I would source another engine or another crank.
When mine went it was very noisy

I don't know woody, been wondering that myself. My boost was regulated off my bcs & my forge actuator, it just went mental for a split second then I thought to myself that could've bent a rod. As soon as I put my window down I realized how right I was, if not a rod it's good damage!
Can I sit in your passenger seat for some tips please? Lol

Did you drive yours for long with the bent rod?
I drove mine home the second I heard the noise, I was 15 mins from home at the time and that was it until the engine was rebuilt. I didn't want to do any unnecessary damage as I wanted to retain the original engine to he car if I could..

Mine went during a little burst session, I was running 1.4 bar for nearly 2 years, I altered the intake by replacing my plastic maf to turbo pipe with a stainless equivalent and I bent a rod with the first enthusiastic drive.. Obviously the stainless pipe was far less restrictive than the standard plastic one which altered the boosting characteristics enough to send the rod over the edge. There was no sign of any misfire or boost spike from my perspective I just heard the ticking noise as soon as I pulled up next to another car and put the window down.

Ex rally navigator mate, I just squat down in the seat &hold on. Think a electronic boost controller is going on my list to avoid this happening again. Lol
    Cheers mate!
