Brief detail session with the 850R :)

So with the loss of garage space for the foreseeable future I wanted to get a decent layer of protection on the car. Unfortunately with the lack of good weather in this country and plentiful rain supply getting a chance to do much more than wash the car was becoming taxing so I thought sod it what the hell. Friday I drove the car to work, gave it a wash and left it to stand overnight to thoroughly dry. This morning up at the crack of dawn I went back to work, I know must be mad going to work on my day off!, brought the car into the workshop and cracked on. I decided from the off set it would be a mini detail leaving the full detail to the summer months.

So today I applied my EX-P Sealant, Nattys Blue paste wax and gave the suspension and inner arches a little spruce up. I also had the advantage of Gav's (Merc85's) handheld polisher for the sealant application. After the sealant had been on the paint for an hour or so I wiped off and started with the wax. Once the wax was applied I set about cleaning the suspension, fuel tank and inner arches. Once they were cleaned and treated I set about cleaning the alloys inner and outer and sealing them and then I removed the wax, which had now been on the body of the car for around 4 hrs. I've of course taken a few shots albeit with my camera phone which do the job and car a hell of a lot of justice, it really isn't "that" good but it has made a noticeable improvement and will help to protect the car for the remaining winter months..

    So the suspension etc

Front n/a, offside looks the same but suspension strut/coil spring cleaned inner arch guard degreased and plastic endurance treatment applied, note the now rather dull looking underseal, this will be getting my attention in the summer

Rear springs, shocks, brake disc backing plates, fuel tank and tank straps cleaned and endurance plastic treatment applied to tank and rear inner arches.

Again the general underseal is looking dirty and won't clean up so when the dry summer weather approaches I will be sorting this

    First shots outside

Then it was a quick dash home whilst the roads were dry and just before the heavens opened I managed another few shots

This is the boot, the black dots towards the top of the picture were seagulls high up in the sky

Close up of the n/s/r 1/4

And a couple of overall pics

All from the n/s of the car due to the fading light, now it's beading well and currently fending off a rain storm so will no doubt look filthy again tomorrow but thought you guys might like to see what I've been doing. As said it's far from perfect and the pictures do it great justice but I feel like I've achieved something with it today so I'm happy
