^^^what he said, although can't resist commenting.....

With the RIP, the route to and from the intercooler has less bends, and maybe is a little shorter so flow is less restricted by frictional effects. If you go for non-standard bits you can increase the diameter of the piping a little, although past a certain size there is not much to be gained. Exactly what that size is, is up for debate

‘Reverse piping’ was the original route for the early T5s but Volvo changed it due to the throttle bodies jamming due to icing up in colder markets like Sweden.

Standard parts are hard to find....Graeme Welch on here has been making kits.

Quicker turbo spool up.....and it looks better are another 2 good reasons to do this mod.

If you think your cars getting on for 20yrs old silicone hose does soften with age......so at some point you'll need to replace them anyway.

I'm sure you'll spend more on a standard hose from volvo than Greames rip kit. Also its a tried and tested mod specifically for your car rather than a bitsa from some unnamed auction site.

If you already have a silicone hose set up it cost me £15 to modify my original pipes.
    Definitely worth it!

...................But it looks as though they can`t be used with the standard intake of air from the front of the slam panel....which i prefer!
