R awd angle gear (diff) oil

Anyone had the diff oil replaced in their R

mine is in for service in a couple weeks and planning on gettin the diff oil and seal done also. is there a specific oil?

Also why the hell couldnt volvo just call it a diff like everyone else. when i speak to anyone and use the term angle gear you can instantly see their face changing to the WTF look

We've had ours changed regularly, but the indie does it for us, so no idea what oil it is.

You have the rear diff oil , Haldex oil, then the angle gear oil.
Not sure if the gear oil is the same as the rear diff ,sure volvokid had different oil fitted in his new angle rear when MRG volvo did the job.

I was told by pyaap that the volvo oil mists and evaporates when heated so he gave me Redline 75W90NS. Its in my gearbox, angle gear and rear dif.
    Thanks

Interesting! So, to confirm, You have the same grade oil in your gearbox, angle gear and rear diff?
If that's the case, mine is due changing so I'll do the same.

Martyn, can you tell me just how much oil was needed to do all 3? Will the quantity be on your invoice for last year mate?

Lee yeah they changed it all. I can't confirm how much was used but the angle gear takes about 1 litre. I orderd £90 of the stuff from here. I know I have a little spare.
    Thanks

£90 from where? Was that meant to be a link?

Later this year I'm going to have a trip up to MRG to get them to change all the drive train fluids & filters so this will be nice to know as well.

Just googled it there is a supplier where I am working tomorrow, think I might call in if I have time.
Link say free post if you spend enough.
