Strange isn't it, starting to wish I hadn't chopped the V70R in for the S70.....

Here are the Crail results from 10th November last year, just to show what is in that class:

Yes right on the coast, just down from St Andrews. A bit of rain and I should be able to crack 19th place with my 55-section winter tyres

I can't see any 'shell grip' on the startline like at York (the yellowey stuff they have started coating junctions & roundabouts with).....but Crail itself looks nice

Hopefully it will be dry track, damp air and freezing cold!

Good on yer fella, time to unleash that 350 hp!! 200 miles though, it's a bit of a hike....the A68 is a more interesting route than the A1 via Berwick

It is far but got to be done, York first event is April then probably I will be working in May for the bank holiday meet I'm trying to get some runs in where I can.....177 miles from Durham to Crail - fill up half a tank then keep to the speed limits all the way, you'll arrive with just enough juice to set a good time due to a lighter car

my problem is the dyno day is going to cost me a tank a of fuel plus a hotel for at least one night then anothe £150 to go on the drag in scotland. i just dont have that kind of money. i dont even use the volvo much these days now. hense why im thinking about selling it.

Give the dyno day a miss then if it is a toss up - I would rather see what mine will do on the strip than the rollers plus I want to see that BMW 330 M sport get a shock from a 1000 quid FWD Volvo might not beat him but won't be far behind

It is a long way tho but April is even further away!! Looking at my rotations I think no chance of getting down to York in May - had a word with Ming the Merciless (the boss), the conversation didn't go well due to our lass recently letting two stray cats into the accomodation and me breaking the bed :S hotel room bill coming up haha

And even without a map come along you can see what your car will do before and after your car is the same as Graeme's I think (S60 T5 SE?)

Some info from Scott at Crail, prices seem OK:

The gates open at 9:30am and the track starts at 10:00am, we run the track until 4:00pm.

There is a £10 entry fee per person and £15 per driver for the 1/4 mile.

Response from Crail about the weather....

We very rarely cancel event, only if we have snow or ice on the track really. If we do have to cancel we will publicize it on facebook and our website as soon as we can.

We don't use any type of track prep, we found track prep actually reduces grip in the wet, also we found out wears off too quickly.

Can't say fairer than that. Depends on what kind of coating you are using I guess but looks like game on
