Seen them for about £750 a pair (£1000 for hollow) and they can do slightly lengthened for safer use of coilovers.

my answer to your question, is no I haven't seen any but yes I think you should if achieving reasonable power increase.
I get asked for new driveshafts all the time, they are a definite weak point on Volvos.
normally the right side inner goes, because it is longer.

On a slightly related topic. How do u know when the drive shaft is on its way out. I got an annoying sqweek that develops at 30mph. and seems to go away at 50
I don't break gearboxes. Just engine mounts.............

I would have thought that the drive shafts were sacrificial? Risk is if you make them stronger then possibly you might break something else further up the drive train? Just a thought.

The price for 1 new ME7 driveshaft is nearly £300, too replace the gearbox with a good second hand unit £250 fitted. Too me its a no brainer, uprated shafts it would have too be

Not if you've fitted a quaife or gripper. Anyway what's with all the extra O's?

I personally cannot see the need to uprate them there is plenty of people pushing good power through them the only thing ive ever had that's failed is the outer cv joint and it just a case to replace that and not the drive shaft.
