Oil Leak (s) + burning oil smell

Did you get to the bottom of this? I seem to have a similar issue.

I no longer have the smell (or leak on the back of the engine). I suspect that:
a) changing the exhaust manifold gaskets, improved the seal and any valve stem oil now goes into the manifold and burns through the exhaust, rather than down the back of the engine. ( I still don't get any blue smoke on startup)
b) using the recommended 10w40 oil rather than trying to be clever and using 5w/30 has also made many aspects of my engine less "leaky".

I have purchased an insitu valve stem seal remover, but I'm taking the view that "if it aint broke don't fix it" at the moment.

If anyone wishes to brorrow said insitu valve stem kit, then please get in touch!
