im sure i once read that autos cant be towed and if they are then they need the drive wheels off the ground. if i can be towed it would save me a few quid.

Some can, some can't. Some when they are towed have to stay under certain speeds. As for the neutral suggestion, then I've not known anyone that's done it, so if you want to be the first...............unless Frankie has already tried it.

Don't tow an auto unless the driven wheels are off the ground.

I think your right, and if I remember correctly the 4spd t4 had to be towed under 15mph. Not sure if its the same for the 4spd 850s though.

The gear selector has to be in N and max towing speed is 10mph and for 20miles max.only.

However because the oil only circulates when the engine is turning the pump why not if you can start it then tow it!!.....your not driving it your still towing.

Can you not just pay someone to deliver it?..there's loads of firms advertise on ebay at so much a mile, cant see it being too expensive if it's only 40 odd miles away.
