My estate drones.....let's say it this way, everything vibrates.....then again i don't have much of a exhaust left atm. From past experiences you could try and look at your exhaust rubbers, some softer ones might help a little to stop any direct vibration

But like it has been said you will get more noise (not only dB's but also vibration noise) from performance exhaust systems

I reckon insert an extra silencer or resonator just after the cat and all will be fine.....

Will have to agree to disagree with the above comment....

I believe that perhaps Graham should speak with the exhaust company about his issues and perhaps arrange for a larger centre/suitcase box to be added, however you'll never get away from the increased db when fitting a larger bore/free flowing system to the car as the exhaust gases will flow faster thus generating more noise.

Such a shame to read this but tbh I'm not shocked as I know what your like about your car Graham. I would return on Tuesday as planned and allow them to increase the size of the box which is currently in place of the original "suitcase" Volvo exhaust box. I wouldn't however be surprised if your still not happy with this resolve and end up resorting back to an original system. I would however consider keeping the new rear box and integrating that with the standard Volvo system or looking at a cat back system as I originally advised
