Change from 17" to 16" wheels

    I've been running some 17" tethys on my S60 in summer and in winter I have some 16" mimas with winter rubber on. Now the thethys needs new rubber when spring comes back around and I'm seriously considering getting rid for another set of 16". Reasons being;
    - Decent rubber is cheaper
    - They don't rub
    - Smoother ride
    - Smaller turning circle
    - Don't tramline as badly

The only good thing about 17" is they look good!

Does anyone know if the 5 stud fitment wheels off the S40/C30 will fit my 2001 S60, and has anyone actually ran these wheels on their S60/V70?

Isn't the centre bore smaller on the S40 & C30's? I'm sure you'd have to have the centre bore made bigger to fit.

    edit: found the sizes

    Centre Bore C30 63.5
    Centre Bore S60 65.1

Looks like you'd need to have them machined out a little.

Now that you say that I knew that already. Lol!

Shame because there aren't many 16" rims that look good on the S60, far more choice with the Ford derived ones. Some of the S80 ones are ok, anyone any pics or suggestions?

You can get 16" versions of the comet wheels that used to be fitted to the V70r & some C70's.

The name is meteor I think, but the looks are pretty much the same.

Thanks for that, there are some reasonably nice wheels on there like the Arcas and the Euris, but can't say that I've ever really seen them before. It seems most S60/V70 omn 16" run either Mimas or Metis, so I don't really know where I'd source them from.

eBay! Just search for alloy wheels, you can always get a good bargain on second hand sets.

That's my point though, there isn't much choice on ebay other than metis or mimas!

    Any 850 5 stud, S70 5 stud, P1 V70 or P1 C70 wheels will work.

    Normally it's a 5x108 pdc with a 65.1mm centre bore.

Often Volvo alloys can appear on eBay under very shakey listings. Try looking in wheels with tyres & just search "Volvo".
