DMF Rattle and Steering Noises Video

A video I made today...

It's in two parts, Part 1 - the rattle sound from the gearbox area has come back and I'm 99% sure the second hand DMF that was fitted with the replacement Gearbox is knackered, despite the fact that the garage said it seemed ok. If it is, I'll need to lobby the ebay seller for a refund.

Anyway, the second part shows some steering noises, like stretching followed by some odd sound that's like something 'catching'. Not sure what this is but it doesn't sound too healthy and appears on full or near full lock only.

Posting this is probably asking for it but there we are!

It was a case of the lesser of two evils. The garage couldn't re-use my old one as they said it didn't fit, so a second hand one was all I could afford and that weighed up against the risk of my front drivetrain locking up meant I had little choice at the time.

Unfortunately, this 'rattle' with have to wait until I can sort out the other maintenance issues on the car. Most of the big jobs are done now, it's just the 'debt mountain' and some bog standard maintenance that I have to now (i.e. tyres and servicing).

I can see why you went with the 2nd hand DMF they can cost £££s , if it knackered what then?

I do know if you can hear the DMF at tickover and dip the clutch & it stops rattling ,best change if ASAP as it will cause a lot of wear to the clutch plate and to the gearbox as the shock removing properties have gone.

get it done asap or youll destroy your gearbox and clutch. do it right do it once. some good advise on hear it pays to listen everynow and again. as once again its come back to bite you on the ass. its not a dig but fact. i seem to remember the topic very well and all the advise was the same

no popcorn needed. the advise was given and ignored. its come back to bite him. its that simple. ive got better things to do than argue on a forum. another amputation to contend with so if james dosnt like it then its tough. i aint going to loose any sleep over it. the advise was given and ignored. simple as that

to be confirmed on wed. i went for a medical on friday for industrial allowance. was a bit of a eye opener. i thought i was doing well. but he mentioned a decision on amputation. he must of spoken to the surgeon. this was news to me but i kind of half suspected it. also it seems ive lost 30% of movement in my ankle so thats not going to need physion as its not good if my ankle seizes up. a op is going to be bad timing for me. i realy want to push GWE but feel like i cant untill i know whats happening. but theres light at the end of the tunnel.

was going to make a video clip of the movment ive got in my foot but nee one wants to see that stuff.

i wish it was funny james. but i keep me chin up and make a joke of it, its the only way to be. lifes boring if take everything seriously. been through hell and back over the last 5 n half months. i wont post pics though as know one like them on here. boring sods lol.
