    Hellllllllp.......!!!!!!

    Hi all...

I as most of the guys I have spoken to on here know im kinda new to Volvo

I bought a 2004 s60 t5(pre facelift) in the summer and I love the car to bits BUT......

in my own stupidity I think I have wrecked the ecu(well that's what a garage I use regular says)

I have put a 2.5 inch cat back bsr opti flow intake and gwe 3 inch downpipe with 200 cell cat on her with all being good (for a few weeks) then I got a mil turned out to be the lambdas were not working as they should have been

so I left it a few weeks (couldn't afford to buy the 2 at once) but I eventually got them(2 new bosch sensors) and got around to fitting them today now the problems seem to have gotten worse

    codes as follows
ECM-2810 front heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) bank1 heating signal missing
ECM-2A20 rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) bank1 heating- signal too low
ECM-2A2A rear heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) bank 1 heating- faulty signal
ive tried clearing the codes (they come back near enough instantly)

the tech I take the car to says when ive extended the wiring for the rear o2 that its short circuited and because ive left it to do so thinks the ecu may now be a goner

what is my options here...??? can I get a second hand ecu re flashed for my car... am I looking at a complete rodgering from a dealer

    OR

is it the end of my lil T5 s60

hope you guys on here can help shed some light on it as I really don't want to scrap it

    thanks in advance

    Robert

i would say unless you soldered the wires wrong the tech is talking a load of crap trying too get u too spend more money with him.

If somehow you have screwed your ecu join T5d5 and talk to a guy called dream3r he can copy your ecu codes onto an identical ecu for you. You need too provide both ecu,s tho and for the service he provides its very cheap

why did you have to extend the wiring? if you have bought a universal Bosch lambda that will be the issue. cutting and soldering sometimes puts a resistance in the wire and confuses the ecu. But im with deathrider the tech certainly sounds like his talking rubbish.

I always supply where possible Oe direct fit Lambda sensor's

Just thinking ,can you remake the joints with the old sensors to see if the code changes when they are reset.

originally I put the sensor wiring under the heat shield and it has crushed the wiring... both new sensors are direct fit bosch units and there is a steady 8ohms across the board... I had to put a little section of wiring in as my rear sensor would not reach and ive searched every where for the wire extension harness from a t5 s70 but nowhere has them so I had to extend (solder) the wiring...

would I not just be getting a rear sensor code if the wiring was the issue...???

    thanks

I don't think you can connect the sensors the wrong way round as the front is a 5 wire and the rear is a 4 wire and the wire heat shield its self is shaped and the plugs are different

the only thing I can think of is the 2 white wires on the rear sensor but they both control the heat going to the sensor so shouldn't effect the operation of it

I will get a before and after fitting of the codes if that helps

    SIMPLES FIX
pulled the rear 02 out (plug end so not registered on the ecu) cleared the code and set again and no difference still signal missing

so banged about for ages wondering wtf could be going on..........

post man arrived with some wired fuses for a boost gauge that im fitting then it hit me.....

No power = No signal so had the drivers fuse board open (nothing out of the obvious) under the bonnet fuse 4 20amp (ox sensor/ecm dsl/fuel pump valve
had completely imploded swapped the fuse out started the car engine light went out...
back on the laptop cleared the codes and guess what.....................

    problem solved......

just like to say thanks to the guys for there input

    Robert
