    New air filter?

I`m thinking of using a panel filter rather than cone one and later on removing the top cover and build something similar to bsr kit with the panel one in it so the choice is a pipercross or K&N.Any difference between them from personal experience?

We've got the K&N in the R, Sharkey R has the Pipercross in his R, not much difference TBH.

ITG are mean't to be one of the best panel filters on the market. Quite expensive and tbh, I didn't notice any difference in my T5 between ITG and the OE filter.

Depends what you want mate, piper cross is a foam filter where as k&n is a cotton gauze filter. I bought a piper cross when I first got the bullion & then got given a basically brand new green panel filter a week after. Surprisingly the green did sound deeper on induction but I plan to sack off the air box for a induction kit when it passes it's mot as I want more growl & chatter.

If You want Max growl with Max induction noise then you have to fit a stainless steel filter. They are meant for Race purpose only but I've had one on mine for over a year with no problems. The noise is ££££ing, incredible, especially when cold on first start up!!
Feathering the throttle and playing with the turbo spool up noise and induction noise is fun too!

However, out of those two I suppose I would choose K+N. Mainly down to the quality of the filter. The Pipercross is really just a piece of sponge at the end of the day.

It may be a bit late now but I fitted a piper filter and it lasted a month before the rubber gasktet around the edge fell off,I might be unlucky but my one was crap.
