Scoop Mk3 (and final design), Adjusted the angle of the intercooler which means I can lower the scoop by about 30mm, also fitted the oil cooler, next week I will make a fiberglass scoop, using this one as a mold, I will have a partition on 1 side to direct air straight into the enclosed air filter, this weekend I'll be fitting the duct which will direct the air out of the rear hatch.

    Gotta love that oil cooler.

Looks like the intercooler's nosy kid trying to see what all the fuss is about!

I saw this in the flesh a couple of days ago....what a project it will be a monster....even ignoring the total hp the increase in traction will make all the difference. I hope I'm in the UK to see the first hillclimb run!

This is some sort of crazy Volvo Frankenstein, can't wait to see it in action...

I know I'm not cutout to do things like this myself, I'd get caught up on a detail e.g. where does the water go when it runs in the roof scoop

Glad there are some mad inventors out there to try these things!

I hope this clears up any confusion as to how the roof scoop will work.

Excellent - Will you do away with the rear glass or use a cut down smaller screen size?

The side and rear glas will be replaced with lexan, the rear hatch piece will be open for the top 6 inches.

Not wishing to be a naysayer, or putting a downer on your project Col, but are you not worried about the route of the air causing rear end lift at high speed?

Yes, saw that, but the fact you're ducting air downwards through the intercooler, to my mind would give lift, of course, I could be wrong, it has been known.
