    Front suspension tops tapping bonnet.

After previous damage caused by pothole, I have just fitted new front shocks, wheels and tyres and replaced bonnet. Only for the shock top to hit the bonnet on the way home from the mot. Car passed with flying colours but I noticed that the shock tops lift away from towers when front of car pushed down, would this be caused by a worn suspension top plate/bearing. Just a note car is on lowered springs. Any help would be grateful Cheers Eddy

It does sound like the shock tops are worn, has the hex cross nut thingy come loose??? Either way it's a cheap fix, push down on suspension with bonnet open if the shocks rise the they are fubar
