just incase anyone is intrested i thought id make a small post about how i build a silencer.
so heres what i start with 6" x12" 1.5mm stainless tubing
2 end caps with 2.5" holes in the end
2meters of 12" wide acousta fill exhaust wadding
12" 2.5" stainless perforated tube
x1 GWExhaust tag
next i wrap 2 meters of acousta fil wadding around the perforated tube and put the perforated tube and wadding into the outer tube
now i tack weld the end plates to the out tube and a few tack on the perforated tube and end caps.
i now go around and weld the end caps.
and the finishing touch is the GWExhaust tag
i forgot to mention. once the silencer is fitted to the car. the hot exhaust gases will melt the strands in the wadding. it then expands andd leaves no air pockets. this is the same stuff thats used in a lot of motorsport exhausts
