did the power out put change between 04 and 05? I'm looking at an 04 on and it says it has 163bhp, is this a typo?
    Thanks

they changed to 185bhp in 2005 apparently. The 163bhp was then labelled 2.4D, this was a software detuned 185bhp tho instead of carrying on the original 163bhp unit (so guessing they added the DPF to that as well)

Im not overly concerned if its manual or auto for my 2nd car TBH that's when the R comes out to play. More importantly it has the wrong colour interior, i doubt Adrienne will look twice at that.
    Thanks

from what i've been told a 185bhp (euro4) with the DPF is no faster than the 163bhp (euro3) which didn't have the DPF, but not as good on fuel either

I believe there are more problems with the 5 speed autos than the 4 speed ones, but I'm sure someone can either correct me, or elaborate on the problems. I just seem to remember the reason a lot of S80's get scrapped is because the auto box dies.

    the early 05' are 163hp.

yes, the 163hp have a black engine cover, and the 185hp have a light grey cover.

make sure its a euro3 163bhp tho (ie before 55). A euro4 163bhp will have the DPF i'm guessing, plus with your auto box will be a right snail lol
