850 To V70 Complete Interior Swap

I love the outer look of the 850 but love the interior look of the V70, im thinking of getting a donor V70 to do the conversion

So in this conversion i want to do:

Dash including the auto climate etc, Doors, Tailgate etc

What problems will I come across?

Will the wiring plug and play? Or will I be biting more than I can chew?

My car is an OBD2 so will that make it easier?

Will the dash wiring plug and play?

    What about the door wiring?

Or will it be easier to change the complete interior wiring looms?

Any help and advise will be much appreciated

Most of the stuff on the dash should just plug and play (I would imagine), the wiring for the windows will be a problem as on the V70 the switches are on the drivers door rather than the centre console. Personaly, although the V70 interior looks nicer it's actualy pretty crappy quality, the plastics are too thin and flimsy for my liking. If you do want to do it then make sure it's a pre ME7 car you get the bits from, otherwise you're just adding to your problems.

Yea the V70 clocks fit as I have bought V70R blue clocks, but want to change the whole dash and doors etc, wont the wiring be interchangeable between the 2 cars so that that switch pack will work on the door instead of the centre console?

Should be, but you'd have to probably swap the whole interior loom to do it.

Can you not just cut the new centre console and put the 850 switches for the windows into the V70 interior?..

u guys never saw the 1993 850 (pre facelift)somebody at the training centre owned. we used to call it the 'bitsa'

everytime he got a v70 bit, from wings to tailgate to interior it was gradually being morphed into a v70 !

Over on Volvo VOC theres a guy called Darth Vol (maybe not his real name), he seemed pretty clued up on interiors. Might be worth a look at his project thread or giving him a shout.
