what's going on with this.

So I put my winter wheels on at the weekend.

When I took the nsf wheel of. The inside of it is caked in a thick sludgy oil like substance.

Where has it come from. In places it was quite thick. Aint appeared over night

CV joint, I'd say the boot split.

Split CV or possibly PAS tank/hose dribbling.

Most likely CV boot though.

EDIT! nsf - pas tank on the other side

I'd say the same as these boys, nice bit of green sludge & you've got a split.
Parts aren't dear but I'd advise packing it with plenty of grease & not just the pathetic sachet you'll get with a new boot.

There is a specific amount of grease required biff- i think it is 90g non turbo and 110g for turbo models.

Cv joint greas,it probably run dry now I'consider to rplace the CV joint if thats the case which is most likely.

The cv joint doesn't seem to be making any noise thou. Might be worth changing just in case

With kits I've had in the past it's nowhere near 110g more like a handy wipe sachet from KFC. Lol
I usually use white grease.

Me tired too,no weekends,long hours doing bits and bobs on my car and no real chance driving it cos need the back window which is in the post.I hope things solve well for u 2 mate.
