I have and all they replaced was the top trim, the side trims go into the roof rails
Yeah the side trims are very easily removed without breaking.
They clip into little clips that slide into pin on the pillars.
I think I have some pics if you need to get a good idea of what you'll find under there.
98 V70 AWD - Long Term Companion. Loads of little changes, the Volvo with a twist.
96 850 R Estate - Pink Pus, project pulled from the weeds!
Oh, plus a glorious (but dead) 01 Alfa 166 V6 and a 05 Liquid Yellow Clio 182.

Thanks lads ...
My issue is that the top trim on my C70 has gotten damaged and bent and looks terrible and unsightly, i have spoken with Rufe and Volvo dont supply that part on its own, you have to buy all the 4 sides of trim AND the windcreen !!! ..
Now im guessing i cant get a 2nd hand piece of trim as removing them will result in damaging the trim anyway ???? .... so im thinking my windscreen could do with being replaced anyway as it looks abit battle scared after 14yrs of use - little nicks here and wipers sweep marks there - so if i get a new screen fitted through my insurance cover im hoping Autoglass would supply the new top trim when refitting ???.
i got the top trim from volvo ok for my 850, i wonder how different they are?
Dependig on what glass supplier they use, the screen will have the top and scuttle trim already fitted.
If not we use a universal trim
not on my 850 they did not, been scouring the breakersto find the plastic trim strip across the top and the wee plastic clis that it fits into above the glass. V series may be different, but dont assume.
In fact it was having the screen replaced that buggered my strip up and the glass replacement co. refused all liability and pointed me to Volvo.
The buggers broke mine on the saffy and used silicone to hold it down!!! i didnt notice this until it flew up at 70mph one day.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies lads ... Im gathering by some of the responses that even if i get a new screen i may not necessarily get a new strip ..
There is an independant screen fitters in our town so i'll pop in and see if they can maybe sort something out for me ..
Does the strip pop in and out easy enough ?? ... as to be honest i have not attempted it as i just thought i would damage it.
anyone got a link to some of these clips?
i remember once removing mine when i wrapped my roof part was sealed....
how do they fit back on btw? cant picture it lol
