Yellow 850 sees light of day again

......had this a long time, was my wife's daily driver for every day of the primary school run, took us on holiday, been north, been south, has won races , has lost races, it's been epic and recently it has been sat away in a corner.......thought today I would get out and assess it again.......

So.....turned it over, checked levels, let it turn over without coil lead then put lead back on....unbelievably it fired into life immediately ! Sounded OK too....I let it sit for a few mins and coaxed it up the road ...still drove ok too...in destructible it seems!

So still very clean inside, everything works, outside is suffering tho ..... Front wings no good but have two original spares in white that are genuine and immaculate. I also have an immaculate tailgate in white too, I think suspension needs done and it was blowing blue smoke before it went off road but PCV cold be blocked .....before it went off road I drove it home with dipstick out and no smoke from exhaust ...would be good if just a blocked PCV

can't seem to find the time or enthusiasm to get stuck into it...although PeteT5 s thread gives me hope !

Give me some encouragement guys !

I think you just need to take a good long look at the car to find your enthusiasm, nothing quite like a yellow

God I've always loved this car of yours, didn't know you still had it. If you ever decide to sell you have to give me first refusal??.... Looking at it there's not much wrong with it that a couple of weekends wouldn't sort out. PCV's cheap enough to do and fairly easy too, nothing you cant do over a weekend at any rate, if you want the bodywork doing I could sort it out for you?..

Cheers TC, it's been a long time here, plans were to strip it to a retro racer type thing, then it was shelved, started to gather bits and bobs but TBH my heart could be out it, I am working on a BMW Compact which is stripped down and heading down the 2.8 route, should be fun. Volvo is still solid but small things like rear bumper brackets are gone, and exhaust hanger is rusted thru, only small things but time consuming with everything else needing done

Yeah, you know how many people here would give their right and left nuts to even have the chance to buy that car? I mean its not for me, but if I had a manual yellow wagon T5-R thats like instant volvo superstar status.

My Gul needs quite a lot of TLC on the bodywork, but T5Pete is also my inspiration to carry on, although I won't be doing a lot of the work myself.
