the pipeline (oil/water) positions did change slightly when they swopped to ME7, so getting the same pre-ME7 turbo for a pre-ME7 car is a good idea. The pipes can be adjusted so you can use ME7 turbo on a non-ME7 car, but its just a bit more work that you won't need to do if you get the right one to begin with

i've got my turbo sorted so afraid i haven't got any pics lol. But they changed the centre chra slightly when they went ME7 so the coolant/oil pipes to the turbo don't line up if you try & use a pre-1999 turbo on your car for example. I am cheating with the coolant pipes on my turbo but thats not for public ears lol

I understand what you mean with "stroppy ME7"

I really like my 16T as it spools so quickly and i do like my power reasonably low down, bugger this 120+ syndrome!!

I have to do something anyway because of my MOT and the smoke on hot idling after 10mins i am even thinking of a refurb on my 16T to include a different billett wheel, not so much bothered about the penny`s so long as i get the feel i want when driving. We will see, i have fingers out for information all over the place so i guess the best will win!

205500+ on my turbo now and I've pinned the glitter in the boost pipes down to the turbo getting on a bit so I'm presuming it's nearly shot.

Didn`t I say the metal glitter in the pipes was from the turbo brgs !!!!!!

I was right about stirbo`s car and his overheating !!!!!

No, it was because of what you said I got the sniff test done, and it was Rachel's car overheating, not mine.
