    Opening abs ecu box

    Being a ham fisted sort of bloke i dont really like touching plastics as i always break something , got the abs box out just need to know how to open it so my brother in law can do some soldering

    they aint supposed to come apart mate, just have to split them apart as careful as you can

    Chainsaw is the best bet bit failing that just drive over it the solder will be squished together then and will be fine

    i grabbed a screw driver... you know the type probably the one thats only ever done 3 or 4 full turns in its life.... but has rather been smashed half to death instead.
    Add the favorite hitting stick and go at the top of the long pin where its riveted... pops off a treat

    Yep tried the big knife easing the side apart technique and managed to chop some stuff up on the inside much to my brother in laws dismay lol told him to stop moaning and get on with it we will see lol

    what excactly do you solder? is this to sort the abs out,my light comes on and off depending how hard ive driven it!!


    full respray..plenty of body mods..comets..ray cat back noise pipe..decat and wrapped downpipe..me7 exhaust manifold..3" throttle body with ported inlet manifold..blue injectors..adjustable fuel reg..reverse intercooler pipework..19t..open cone air filter..255 fuel pump..m-r-p short shift..boost gauge..unknown remap..adjustable suspension..lightweight crank pulley..n/a cams..stripped out interior..and a heavy right foot

    On mine I had to remove some star clips from where the fixing bolts went through then carefully break away the thin plastic 'lip' around the joint, this exposes the sealant which you can then carefully cut through till the cover finally loosens and you can then gently pry it off .
    Old Car: 855 T5 in Grey and rust (dead and gone, well, most of it !
    Missus' ride: Citroen C4 coupe 1.6 HDi,
    Modifications: Nowt.....yet !
    Daily driver: 855 R in Black,
    Currently nursing a blown head gasket, new engine on its way !
    Recent addition: Freshly imported Honda Stepwagon,
    Slowly turning into a camper van !

    Not enough Dave, that's just not enough.

    Anybody got any real experience before I lent the Husquvarna out?
