1997 Volvo 850 RHey up guys quick one for ya see if this is common or not as I noticed the other day that mt trip and odometer aint working but speedo is fine . Is this a common problem? Is there a fix or is it a new binnacle. Any views would help cheers.

Hlm304 2.5"obx cat back koni fsd's powerflex top mount k&n panel filter v70 rear lights strut brace no fuel and a heavy right boot!!

full respray..plenty of body mods..comets..ray cat back noise pipe..decat and wrapped downpipe..me7 exhaust manifold..3" throttle body with ported inlet manifold..blue injectors..adjustable fuel reg..reverse intercooler pipework..19t..open cone air filter..255 fuel pump..m-r-p short shift..boost gauge..unknown remap..adjustable suspension..lightweight crank pulley..n/a cams..stripped out interior..and a heavy right foot

Thanked 528 Times in 448 PostsWhen mine failed it was the actual stepper motor that stopped working, managed to swap the odo drum over (after adjusting it to the correct mileage of course ! )
Old Car: 855 T5 in Grey and rust (dead and gone, well, most of it !
Missus' ride: Citroen C4 coupe 1.6 HDi,
Modifications: Nowt.....yet !
Daily driver: 855 R in Black,
Currently nursing a blown head gasket, new engine on its way !
Recent addition: Freshly imported Honda Stepwagon,
Slowly turning into a camper van !

Thanked 613 Times in 451 PostsThe reason these fail is if you press the reset button whilst the car is moving, because it is a direct gear drive u force them backwards and break the teeth off.

Mine stopped working 4 years ago, only noticed after two years.
Mileage 73931 for ages, probably more like 100,000 now
