There is a product called Gummipfledge that works really well on the door rubbers, its german i think , mightfind a link to it.

Thanks - I think the gap is a bit bigger than that, but I'll certainly check it out.

Shortly before I got the car, someone fitted a second-hand window regulator in the door and I suspect it all needs some tweaking.

Wouldn't Vaseline destroy rubber, being petroleum-based?
