I need help! My 2004 S60 D5 has been a paragon of pleasure being largely fault free over the years, so I suppose something was bound to blot its copy book.
The ABS light came on with the messages 'Anti-skid temporarily off' and 'Brake assist disabled'. Now my local garage owner is a very easy going chap and although not a Volvo specialist, he does have diagnostics for the S60. If I gave him twenty quid, he would read the codes, tell me what they were and said I could come back to read/delete the codes as often as I needed to, to find the fault, at no further charge.
The code 0124 showed a fault at the N/S rear wheel, so as the wheel bearing was rather noisy after 111,000 miles I replaced it with a new one. No joy with the ABS light, so I replaced the sensor - still no joy. I then changed the rear wheel bearings round - left to right - and fitted another sensor. The diagnostics were still showing a fault on the rear N/S. I disconnected the sensor at the plug under the seat to make sure there was no wiring fault - the diagnostics came back with 'No signal from sensor', so that seemed to rule out a wiring fault.
I am now stuck!! Please, can anybody help?
