would I be right in thinking that once the angle gear mod is done (welding the sleeve I heard) then we should have no real future worries ???

I bought 2 props 2nd hand...... both didn't fit as for some reason Volvo made 5/6 different ones!!! idiots. So I had a custom one built for my car from a guy in Bristol £695 .... only to find out my rear diff was shagged. As you can imagine I was not best pleased. So I just sold the prop to another member on here for 450 and cut my loses. The car handed so much better but the AWD system definitely calmed the whole drive down. No wheel spin, just launch. If my rear diff wasn't shagged It would of been worth every £ I reckon. Well if you need a buyer for the decat and jetex let me know as its hard enough trying to find stuff that fit these bloody things. Mine passed MOT with no work in April, i'll have finigers crossed for you

Thanks mate I do hope so. The more I look at it the more i find I want to improve things. I know what needs doing off advisories on the last mot but that was dare I say it legible given the state of the exhaust I wouldnt of passed it as safe. To be fair I'm happy with it, for the miles its a warrior of a car but I've not driven it hard for a long while as I constantly need it to cover the 24 mile round trip to work each day. I've really struggled to find some decent back calipers to rebuild... £300 for calipers wasnt good. Hopefully have them on & sorted soon so i can munch some miles & roadtest it properly. Have you not looked for another diff? I suppose its too late now you've sold your prop? Did your man do away with the viscous couplings on the prop. I've been assured it will fit so fingers crossed no whiney diffs.
Adrian I've read it makes a good difference but cant help thinking its the collar thats supposed to fail first, if its welded then something more exspensive will fail. lol

I'd just spent 1450 on the car the pervious month having Gear box, transfer box, clutch and few other bits done. When the prop didn't fit, I just gave up. Now im on a healthy salary again now instead of being self employed I will look to do it again but get a 2nd hand prop that 100% fits and look to find a diff etc.

At the moment im focusing on Motorbikes until the weather gets bad. Then the Volvo will be getting the love again
