    Water Pump Leak? Your Opinion?

    Hi all,

Have been trying to track down this coolant leak for a few weeks now and I thought I had it sussed with the Thermostat Housing but while sorting that I just took the top cam cover off and peered down to were the water pump is and saw a small amount of coolant sitting there.

The only thing it doesn't seem to loose any coolant while driving its once the car has stopped and cooling down and once you come back to it the level in the res tank will have dropped. It does not use a lot but enough to require a little top up every long ish trip.

The car has had the cambelt done 20k ago but no mention on a new water pump on the invoice so guessing its the original Volvo part.

    Anyone any ideas?

The cog was dry just the bit were the arrows are.

It appears to be coming from the 'Witness' hole, so a new pump required. Water pumps tend to leak when cold.
