£2.16 + VAT looking at the invoice from my Volvo specialist when he did mine for me. The engine was out of the car at the time so it was done as a matter of course.

    BTW: A VR6 and a T5 at 20? Nice, I thought I was doing well with just the T5

I know, but I have my Golf as the car to satisfy imagination and things.. The BMW is just for everyday and its got a good lump with RWD, may stretch to an M3 EVO but 2 3.0+ cars could be a bit much. Im just bored of the volvo.. Great car and I wud consider another one, but the old man image and spongey brakes and suspension and auto box are all against it. Want something that can be driven and the BMW is a great everyday drivers car.. Something I really miss!

    Hi,

I don't think it's your turbo ! More than likely valve stem oil seals or guides ! Turbo seals and it would be like the "red arrows" under boost.

    Regards,
    Hamish.

Wouldn't it be smoking all the time if it was that?

It doesn't matter if the car is hot or cold, if its left on the spot for anything to 1 or 5 mins, as soon as the turbo comes on boost, a puff of blue smoke come out of the exhaust but soon disappear... Throughtout driving it doesn't smoke at all... I've had people follow me and they said they saw nothing, but after sitting in traffic, they did.. Im constantly topping up oil..

    ???

If it does prove to be the turbo, where can i get hold of a replacement as im going to sell the car

Hamish is right, same on my car, if it was turbo seals it would be blue smoke all the time, valve stem oils seals are a nightmare to change, head off job and strip down, £2.16 from volvo (x 20) most prob £300 for labour (ill do it for £100 lol) Put some 20W50 that will sort it out, im joking bout the oil thing just in case

Maybe not the turbo seal could be so many other things, cheapest from your breating system is shagged to your piston rings are on the way out, could be something cheap and easy or something that is megga bucks.
