Nosh, i like to hear both sides. I didnt mention you to get you involved as you have been, i apologise for that, more that it was yourself and deathrider in the last thread about SHark, thats all.. But if someone has info that would benefit he forum members, the forum and myself. The i would gadly hear it, in an open forum for all to read.

I will be speaking to ben, and i did my research and only found 1 issue then heard about your 'encounter' with them making that 2.

All my experiences with Shark, and all the people that i have spoken too directly or about indirectly have been postitive.

    Everyone deals with things/issues differently.

Feel free to PM me is thats better for you.

The whole thing is pathetic.Say it or keep quiet.I hate it when someone burping instead of talking.Mistakes do happen, what counts is the percentage of good jobs and ££££ ups done.

Thete is no track to this thread, it was started months ago, and still nothing's happened. With the greatest of respect to Chad, if he's too busy to get on and sort this someone else should do it, if Shark are holding this up then they're certainly not a company I'll deal with.

Originally started to gauge interest......if there isn't sufficient interest then there would have been no point to pursuing further.

Not sure what the hang up is with the time between original thread and the update. The Trax thread was started in January but the event wasnt until September.

But Trax is a fixed date, we all know that, how can you guage interest in an event of which you know not the cost, or when it is?

The dates were put in a poll......prices depend on interest and prices coming out this week.

Forums arent really for realtime information......though I'd agree updates could have been a little more regular

    Hi STribo,

At the time of the original post i had plenty of time as i was between contracts. But then i got busy with a last minute contract which has now ended.

Hence why i updated the thread......

i did apologise for the delay, and will now be moving forward with this.

As Santa has said, the price will depend on the interest.

I did put the dates in a poll, but i will now have to change those dates to a more suitable date that will suit the majority.

Again, i can only apologise on my part for not chasing this up as frequent as i would have liked to.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Nosh for using his chip shop as a Shark outpost and evangelising about us in a such a commendable way. Without your help, I'm sure we'd be nothing. The customer you recommended to us decided to leave his car with us to have the work completed, once I'd showed him the dyno plots of exactly what his car was doing with an explanation of why. He understood the situation and why his car was so problematic to sort out, granted there were some communication issues relating to a now departed member of staff, and the customer now has my direct mobile number and was very happy for us to continue his job as discussed on the day. Now that I've returned from Asia and the mechanical work we agreed on has been done, I'll continue tuning the car this week and see if it responds correctly. Would you like me to keep you updated as well as the customer? As it seems to be a bigger issue for you than for him. I gather your car is 600bhp now? Must be quick. Fancy that dyno run yet?

I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind deathrider that it would be wise to be a little more careful when calling the company or me personally "liers" [sic] or suggesting that I have told any of our customers "bull". There's opinion and there's libel and slander. Please feel free to state your opinion as freely as the forum permits, but refrain from posting lies and misinformation outside of your own personal knowledge or dealings with us as it could land you in hot water if I were to pursue it.

To everyone else on the forum, if anyone would like to discuss anything at all with us, particularly the misinformation campaign by the two fellows mentioned above, please feel free to give us a call any time between 09:00 and 17:30 Monday-Friday. I'm usually in and if I'm not, I'll do my best to return your call ASAP. I'm getting pretty sick of having to go on to various forums outside of work time to "defend" myself/my company against these guys so I would welcome direct contact if anyone has any issues, or are concerned about the "information" posted (or indeed not posted, just eluded to).

Sorry for being frank but I'm a human being after all. Shark Performance isn't a huge faceless organisation, it's 6 people who work very hard and I absolutely take any criticism (especially this kind of stuff) personally as do we all.

    Thanks

    Ben/Shark

Good on you for defending yourself and all I'll say is that you can hope to please everybody but expect to please most people. Some people are never satisfied no matter how well you treat them.

Anyway, I'll avoid taking the thread off-topic (I'll get my wrist slapped), but I'm interested in a price for a basic ECU remap.

I`ve red a few threads about Shark performance on vwaudi forum which I`ve been a member for 5years and so far members are happy about the work done.Me personally have not had experience yet so I`ll go with the opinion of local chip shop I suppose as they seem to know more about remaps than chips lol

Sod it, everyone else is sticking their ore in, so I may as well!

On the subject of what this thread 'was' about:

I have to say I completely agree with what Stribo had to say 'There is no track to this thread, it was started months ago, and still nothing's happened. With the greatest of respect to Chad, if he's too busy to get on and sort this someone else should do it, if Shark are holding this up then they're certainly not a company I'll deal with.' And also Deathrider's sentiments that this attempt to organise a RR day is a joke - Offensive or not, it just is! Chad, we've met, we have a mutual respect, based on our years of being on this forum I'd like to believe. But how many times can you say 'i'll sort that out tomorrow/next week/soon/etc...' before people start getting pissed off? Which is what's happened exactly. Baring in mind this is supposed to be a 'forum organised' event, by a moderator, how can any more promises of getting it organised soon can be taken seriously? Until a date and prices are set, I'd think the level of interest is going to drop away to zero!

On the subject of Nosh/Deathriders continued 'bashing' of Shark:

I made this statement on the last thread about Shark (HERE), in which they got attacked by Nosh/DR, after Nosh said it wasn't his place to say, and I should search the internet - 'Well it is your place to say. Point me in the right direction?? We're all part of one big Volvo community, and we should all look out for each other. So if you've got some info that may make people think twice about using Shark, I for one would like to see it. Posting cryptic messages, and half statements doesn't help anyone IMHO! And apart from the odd digs from yourself and DR, I haven't seen any other negative comments about Shark. I have been on the receiving end, and had plenty of flack over the years from loyal HLM customers because of the troubles I had with them (back in the VT days), and what I told of what happened to me. I wouldn't change it, HLM screwed me over in my opinion, through bad workmanship, lack of knowledge, and piss poor customer service, and I let everyone know about it. It's got to be done for the greater good IMO.'

After searching the internet, THIS is the only negative thing I could find regarding Shark (HERE is link to both sides of the story). I was PM'ing Nosh and Ben (Shark) following that thread, as I was getting bored of not actually hearing any facts that backed up Nosh/DR's attacks on Shark. This is what I said to Ben in my PM, commenting on the above thread 'As you know I have been on the receiving end of very bad workmanship and customer service from one 'tuner' (if you can call him that!) in the past. So I am very sceptical and suspicious of anyone in the industry. If you want my honest opinion, I do believe you should have just given back the guy his money (all of it) for the remap. He clearly was given the run around when it came to phone calls, and people getting back to him. I know some customers are difficult and make it hard for themselves, but having been on the receiving end, I know how frustrating it can be. You made your decisions, and stuck by them, and that's fair enough. I put the link up to try and encourage others to do the same, but the bottom line is (and what I already know), there isn't anything else, I just thought it could be handled a little better from the off.' Nosh mentioned another situation that involved a friend, in a current situation that involved trading standards. This I know nothing else about, but would certainly like to, if it is true.

It is well documented that I had a run in with HLM years ago. Now if anyone asks for opinions on HLM I will send them HERE And that's it. People can make up their own minds. More fool you, if you want to use HLM after reading how I was treated. This is how I'd like Nosh and Deathrider to play this Shark situation, Put up a link to genuine facts that back up your claim, and leave it at that, then people can make up their own minds. But still refusing to do so, yet still attacking Shark with no rhyme or reason to anybody reading, only serves to make yourselves look less trustworthy in your claims. No offense is intended, I have nothing against anyone here at all, it's just how it's starting to come across.

As I did mention Chris, sometimes we get busy and yes, I did apologise as to why it has taken this long...

Fair enough, it's a forum organised event by a moderator, but certain things do happen beyond our control.

As I did state, when I did start the thread I was between contracts and had time, but then a last minute contract came up....

I apologised, said I would sort it out, and I will.

I can't say much more.... But I can do more (time and work permitting)..
