Lexus do make bloody fantastic cars Martin.
Oh no, what is it with these ruddy cars and their electronic computer controlled devices!
They seem to cause no end of faults, holes in our pockets and often without any warning whatsoever. Martin, take out AA Garage cover because after advice from people on here I did to cover myself. You'll have a £35 excess to pay but the AA will cover the rest up to £500 - a big chunk of the cost for a reconditioned ECU or even a new one.

Put the ECU from the Starlet in there and give it a run. Failing that, take the ME7 out of the Sweed, put it in the Starlet, put a loud exhaust on it, big stereo and give it a chav type respray with a few rattle cans making sure you get that uneven look to it, and then go race around Poole like a tit.

The bitch did it again!
Coming back from the pistonheads meet, same situation as before - going uphill with the cruise control on doing 70 (ish) mph.
No code stored this time ???
Stopped the car, engine off, engine on roared away in a cloud of tyre smoke. Car working perfectly again.
Bloody thing.

Very worrying Martin. Do you have vida? That will point you in a better direction to trace the fault
Fingers crossed it's something simple
It's a 5 Cylinder Orchestra!
R.I.P. Kyebosh (Alan) you're memory lives on!
Good old Ford
Hmmmmm. worrying. Is it one of those things that when it happens it can be a bit dangerous? ie you come to a halt in the fast lane of the motorway? Not good if the wife and sprogs are on board
Hope it is something simple mate. £600 for an ECU change!!!!!
Me: 2005 V70 2.4 T5 SE. All standard.
The Wife: 2008 C70 2.5 T5 SE. All standard.
Actually, it drifts down slowly with no loss of brakes or steering etc, very safe, just annoying.
I have a theory which I'll be investigating.
