    Thanks for the heads up, Mr Wobbles, Jimbo or Smithy will be along any time some with some alternative advice no doubt, but still got to find a supplier for the OEM wiring connectors

    Update

    Got fed up with the 'supermarket trolley' handling characteristics of late and haven't liked the front end ride height since fitting the V70r front springs and struts. Also nasty knock is regularly coming from the front end, so time to strip out the struts, check bushes and mountings and fit the old t5-r spring to the v70r struts. The bushes are all fine ( but will polybush the lower arms soon ) and drop link are also still good. Whilst manipulating the anti-roll bar from the passenger side, I found the knock, the drivers side anti-roll bar mounting looked to have broke its back fixing bolt, damn I thought, as this will be hard to extract without dropping the sub-frame. I finished off working on the passenger side and whipped the wheel back off the drivers side, as I'd already done this side, I started to investigate the broken bolt to discover no broken bolt, but the mounting has ripped out of the sub-frame by cracking all the way around underneath it. So looks like a sub-frame swap is now on the cards

    yep..time to gather any other bits I want to do whilst the engine and sub-frame are out, not quite what I had planned as this has forced my hand a bit, but it will not be done in the next couple of weeks as I want to get the V70R sorted first

    Only a short time available yesterday, so spent some time improving the lighting with a cheap set of HID's

    Had to modify the covers to get the grommets to if nice

    finished and working will have to wait for darkness to try them out

    Not really the day I planned today, started stripping bits of to give the gearbox a good clean and ready it for fitting, but in the process I snapped an engine mounting bolt

    So some heating, wd-40, a good stud extractor were required and some patience as had to get it out with out damaging the thread. The Stanley Proto extractors are excellent and wish I'd discovered them years ago



    Also goto the heater matrix changed as well today, got one off the bay £22.50 plus the postage


    not the nicest of places to work, but no way as bad a job as I had been lead to believe

    This arrived today ( thanks Pete ), so I couldn't resist fitting it

    and as the weather was good today I decided to do a dummy run on subframe removal before doing the T-5R, obviously the T-5R will have to be a lot higher as the engine and box will still be in the subframe, all seams simple enough and the dolly makes light work of rolling it out when disconnected, steering joint looks like it could be a pain when the engine is in the way, but I sure I'll manage

    Also stripped the V70 of the rest of Claymore's new front end eg. bumper, wings and readied the bonnet for popping off, for when I'm next going over to Shrewsbury

    It will pay you to remove the obd2 socket and the wiring loom out of the V70 as it will make life easier when you start flashing the M4.4 ECU
