been looking at snaab pipes for my 2.4 t5. tempted to do my own version as im not prepared to pay over £200 for two pipe. question is are they realy worth it. ive read a few writes ups on them on sweedspeed in they get posative feedback on the s60r. just wondering if anyone on here has fitted one

Surely a couple of pieces of silicone & a length of ally would be cheaper & just as affective Graeme.
I had a power rohr on my golf gti & although I doubt power was affected it certainly upped the throttle response.

as most know metal work is my game so spending over £120 on some thing i can make for under £40 which will be same quality if not better is a huge no no. buying off the shelf is boring anyway. i prefer to make my own stuff. much more job satisfaction

I've always liked snabb stuff. I have a spare pipe you can rework, I believe you're already familiar with it as you welded on the recirc.

It's yours if you want it. I have the unions to make it fit.

Go for it, much less restrictive than the standard one due to the smooth internals and loss of ribbing that the standard one has..

i might take you up on that. im in two mind at the minute which way to make it. i can buy a 90 degree bend with a 1" take off but these are £40 or i can make it mainly out of stainless and use a round gromet for the 1" that gose it to it and this will keep the price right down. unsure wear id get the grommet from though

Made a huge difference to the sound of mine..

Oh and I bent a rod because of the alteration in air flow, although it wasn't a genuine Snaab part that I had fitted at the time... Oops...

its a free flowing pipe that comes off turbo and gose to maf. the other one comes from intercooler to throttle body. from what i read they sharpen up throttle responce

yes thats the one. going to make it all 3" as far as im away its 3" from the turbo to the maf so no need for reductions. dont think think id change the pipe that gose across top of rocker cover. i like the factory look under the bonnet

I have a Tim Williams maf to turbo pipe and there's no port for the ptc nipple thingy, so I unplugged it and it now lives in the bottom of my toolbox (just in case) and the pipe is connected to a spare port on the intake. Throttle response and spoolup has improved and the noise is fantastic.
