    ME7 inlet manifold on a 850

    Been busy today fitting the S60R inlet manifold and mocking up the induction pipe work.




    Just need to get it welded and have the ICV stabing welded on.

    1996 850 T5 AWD - Self tuned M4.4 ECU with COP`s, B5254T ( S60R internals in a 850 block ) ostrich 2.0 , VXR injectors @ 3.8 bar, K24 turbo with a 6+6 compressor wheel, 3.25" MAF, top mounted Dump Valve, RN Exhaust manifold, 3" downpipe with 200 cell cat, 2.75" Stainless exhaust, Brembo calipers, S60R brake discs, stainless RIP kit, 3" Throttle body,

    whats getting welded. all looks done to me. what the difference between old manifold and the new one. never seen under onnet of a 850 befor
    s60 2.4 t5 eibach springs,up rated rear anti roll bar, poly bushed wishbones, poly lower engine mount, fmic, bmc air filter, 3" decat, 2.5" stainless exhaust,hlm remap 328bhp,

    me7 doesn't have a throttle body or throttle cable.

    if you don't mind, what gains are to be had with this mod and how are you fitting your throttle body to it ??

    As far as gains go I think the S60R manifold flows better and this is how I`m fitting the throttle body

    I think it should make some differnce to the performance

    But time will tell.

    frankie will hate this mod as everything on the phase 2 is dull boring and slower lol

    i'd look into the options for a thinner fan, the bottom IC pipe can be alot straighter if you can get it thru

    alot of the thickness is actually the plastic cowling between the radiator & fan, i made a new one from metal sheet. Not sure if it'd be enough to get the pipe thru without measuring. You could also swop to something like a Kenlowe fan cooling system instead

    Try looking at some of the Kenlow fan kits, they do slim versions designed for kit car installations
    Old Car: 855 T5 in Grey and rust (dead and gone, well, most of it !

    also the kenlowe kit can be mounted in front of the intercooler rather than behind the radiator, that could be benifical to the intercooler

    Kenlowes are quality fans, I had 2 on my gtir & they were silent & brilliant on a switch. They kept it at 1/4 temp easily during my street racing days.
    That's a cracking looking bit of machine work, your car is stunning with it mods.

    Hell if I can't get my ME7 to play ball - I may be tempted to fit a manual throttle myself.

    as airflow goes the pre me7 inlet manifold looks a smoother route for airflow to the cylinder head and on the other hand the me7 manifold has less distance but tighter turns to the ports, so it would be interesting to what results could be measured on a flow bench to see which is best or is there hardly anything between them and pay be Volvo just changed design to save material costs when designing the me7's
