I ran it at 10psi an gave it the beans on a test drive, all was well until one of coolant hoses popped. The hose that goes from the back passenger side of the cylinder head round the back of the engine and through the firewall (presumably for the heater). It's seemed odd for the increased boost pressure to make a coolant hose pop, could it just be because it was old?
Well it's running 10-11psi now and it's definitely more than it was running before, quite wary of it now though with my quick fix coolant hose (slid some copper pipe to the hole and clamped it)
I just hope I havnt blown the head gasket :/
The car seems to be running fine, no smoke or anything. Its just that it could be an explanation for a popped water hose. I might be worrying over nothing though
It should be fine, just enjoy, and smithy get back to work!!!
Thats a suspicious sounding job at 10.30pm on a Sunday night lol :p
Everyone needs a good cover story
If I remember correctly that hose at the back of the engine is shortish and if old with the xtra torque you now have and booting it the engine will rock more so the hose came off
Rock the engine by hand to see if the engines mounts are ok or not
The standard boost is 8.7psi for the B200FT or ET giving 155/160bhp
