Your car has 13 mm rods so no need to worry but you will hit boost cut at around 14 psi so I would run your car at 13 psi and enjoy .

I ran it at 10psi an gave it the beans on a test drive, all was well until one of coolant hoses popped. The hose that goes from the back passenger side of the cylinder head round the back of the engine and through the firewall (presumably for the heater). It's seemed odd for the increased boost pressure to make a coolant hose pop, could it just be because it was old?

More pressure always finds a weak spot mate .but I think the 2litre runs 10 psi standard or might be wrong .i know the hpt 2.3 runs 6.5 psi at 165 bhp and the lpt I have runs 4 psi at 135 bhp but I have a couple of mods so I'm at 140 bhp .

Well it's running 10-11psi now and it's definitely more than it was running before, quite wary of it now though with my quick fix coolant hose (slid some copper pipe to the hole and clamped it)

The car seems to be running fine, no smoke or anything. Its just that it could be an explanation for a popped water hose. I might be worrying over nothing though

If I remember correctly that hose at the back of the engine is shortish and if old with the xtra torque you now have and booting it the engine will rock more so the hose came off
Rock the engine by hand to see if the engines mounts are ok or not

The standard boost is 8.7psi for the B200FT or ET giving 155/160bhp
