    new to this performance forum

    hi all I met a couple of members at Shakespeare raceway on sunday and recommended this site for help on tuning my 2004 s60r
    budget is about a grand at the min. What should I start with? im looking for about 350hp any help would be appreciated

    Welcome Tim, I was one of the guy's you met on Sunday (the good looking one) maybe you should get some pics up of your S60 so everyone can see it.

    Re tuning, someone with far more knowledge (nearly everyone) will be along shortly

    I see a lot of people doing the 2.4 engine swap to push the R forward due to the fragile liners - depends how hard you want to push it.

    Santa - our earstwhile leader has an S60R and has had some success. I'd say with that budget - filter, downpipe, exhaust & remap.



    ps what time did you run at Shaky? (if you did run)

    100 will get you a 200 cell down pipe. i can make you one cheaper than anywear else. mte remap is 450 and you should getva catback system with the change. that will get you around 345bhp
    s60 2.4 t5 eibach springs,up rated rear anti roll bar, poly bushed wishbones, poly lower engine mount, fmic, bmc air filter, 3" decat, 2.5" stainless exhaust,hlm remap 328bhp,

    not the best pics but will only let me upload these.....I didn't take the car down this time was only watching will defo do it when I have a bit more hp .. would it make a difference if I get a map then exhaust or am I best getting it mapped when exhaust and filter are fitted?

    regarding getting a proper performance Volvo I would love an 850r but its nice to woft along in comfort mode lol ive come from an s40 t4 and when rolling I cant feel any advantage in the s60r over the t4....The t4 was running over 250hp though
    really am looking to change the intercooler as well but that will have to wait till the end of august when I get back off my hols..

    regarding the 200 cell down pipe that sounds good to me Im in Birmingham how much would it be posted??
    already more help on here than years on the Volvo owners forum lol

    full respray..plenty of body mods..comets..ray cat back noise pipe..decat and wrapped downpipe..me7 exhaust manifold..3" throttle body with ported inlet manifold..blue injectors..adjustable fuel reg..reverse intercooler pipework..19t..open cone air filter..255 fuel pump..m-r-p short shift..boost gauge..unknown remap..adjustable suspension..lightweight crank pulley..n/a cams..stripped out interior..and a heavy right foot
