S60 D5 "Attitude Sensor"??? What the hell is it???

    Hi All

I recently bought my S60 D5 and it goes into limp mode when giving it full throttle. Now, Ive googled the problems and some people have said its the hose before the turbo or the fuel filter.

The thing is, Ive JUST had a mail from the previous owner, as I sent them a letter asking for info on the car. He replied, saying the car has been perfect for 65k miles, apart from this "limp" mode. He has had it fixed once by a specialist, and they had to replace the "attitude" sensor at the back of the engine!!!

Anyone have a clue what this is???? It measures the movement of the engine and adjusts the turbo (apparently)

    Cheers
    Thankyou, Goodnight....much love

I've had this a few times with my D5, it will be more than likely the elbow that fits on the turbo inlet, they split where the hose meets the turbo. when on full throttle, it sucks the hose together restricting air flow thus the mil lamp and reduced power, but before you replace it check that the metal pipe that rus down the side of the engine (the elbow fastens to this) is still actually fastened to the engine!!! the cast fasteneing part breaks off which then leads to the hose splitting. Rather than by a new metal pipe i got a heavy duty P-Clip of the correct size and secured the pipe back to the engine with it, not had a problem with it since and its a whole heap cheaper.

    Hope this may help.
