    Ian & Graham (Mini Meet!)

Graham Invited me down to Crazy London for a cup of coffee and a chat as we have not seen each other in a while. He also took me for a ride in his car and he had a go in mine...

To say I was Impressed with his is an understatement!
Not a sound could be heard inside the car, no squeaks or rattles anywhere, just total silence!

The ride was incredibly quite and smooth over bumps and pot holes, even when he put the Power down... It was smooth and no effort at all for a 15yr old motor.... This car could put many a New Car to Shame in comfort and acceleration.

It's a real credit to you Graham how you keep your motor in Tip Top Condition! and if anyone ever has the chance to go for a ride... Take it!

Here are some pics from today...

    Grahams engine... Spotless as always.

    And that's it!

Cheers Graham for a very pleasant and entertaining morning!

It was a real pleasure to be in a car with the Standard 17"s on Martyn... made such a difference to the ride but for looks the 19's win hands down

Had a great morning Ian, thanks for driving down to meet up, time certainly does fly when your talking (and driving) Volvo's lol

I'm so glad Ian liked the ride, I do feel the car is running very well at present, and I am pleased that he noticed it was a quiet rattle free experience.

Now onto Ian's car.....or more to the point the mods he has recently done, firstly the scoop.....to be totally honest I like it, quality paint job on it and it's been fitted really well, a keeper as far as I'm concerned. Next the wheels and as you can see from the piccy's today was very overcast, and the wheels were more of a 'chocolate' colour, as I said to Ian it's not that I don't like them (I do) it's just we hardly ever see anything straying from either silver or black wheel wise so they will take getting used to, I know Ian's car is more 'in your face' than mine and I did notice people staring at us when we took his car out.

The ride out in his car was a treat, Ian let me drive and it certainly does pull (as you'd expect) kickdown at normal cruising speeds and it's hold on time, the bigger wheels do detract from the ride quality over potholes etc as expected but it's nothing major.

The only bad point (for me anyway) is the front number plate, which I think should be replaced in it's original position.

I only took 3 pic's, and they were all of Ian's car, enjoy.....

Very nice lads, looks like you had fun. Great pics too. Graham's car is indeed a real example of power meets refinement, wrapped in clean and subtle looks (lovely to drive too )
And as for Ian's motor... it's like having your brain smashed out with a slice of lemon, wrapped around a large gold brick! (Douglas Addams quote) It's really grown on me now and the boldness of the styling deserves merit

Well done boys, for making the Volvo name stand out to those of lesser tastes

Is the scoop just there for looks or is there a big hole under it.
I can rember someone doing th same and it let water into the top of the engine to fill up the spark plugs holes.
